ABOUT PATCHES
Patches, Stay Put! is an enjoyable adventure for any age. Inspired by real events, Patches, Stay Put! tells the story of a spunky stray cockatiel named Patches, who adopts his new-found family as much as they adopt him. This sassy bird will keep you smiling, while helping demonstrate lessons of honesty and kindness for young readers.
This book can be enjoyed by both children and adults. It is funny, educational, thought provoking, and offers hope in the most dire of circumstances. Patches’ adventures are true to his character, talents, and diverse situations.
Author & Illustrator Carol Mazurek has a BFA from the State University of New York (SUNY) in Buffalo, NY, and a Master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry. She has received awards in photography, mixed media collage, and watercolor art work. Carol presently resides in beautiful West Virginia where she is surrounded by God’s creation, inspired daily to paint, write, draw, garden, and photograph.
Carol was inspired to write Patches, Stay Put! based off of the real events surrounding her family's found-and-adopted cockatiel, Patches.
